SHOEPACK was developed using ‘Genero’, the very latest development tools available for database applications. Genero is an exceptional development environment which allowed us to produce powerful, yet flexible and stable applications that are user friendly.

SHOEPACK is currently ported to run on two databases:

   1.      Genero Database
   2.      IBM Informix

Linux is the recommended platform to run the database and applications, the users connect to the applications via a small piece of software on their workstation called GDC (Genero Desktop Client).

Although SHOEPACK is fully graphical the network load is kept to a minimum as the data packets being transferred are all text, the GDC performs all the graphical interpretation and display.

All our applications have full record locking features so that there can never be corrupted data caused by multiple users performing the same job function at the same time.

Each application has its own error log file so tracking any problem is straightforward.
